Crazy car inspection

Recently I went to have an inspection of my car done, seems pretty harmless, right.

However when the inspection is over the car guy comes over and say, you car doesn’t pass…
-Me: ok…so what’s wrong with the car?
-Car guy: You need to remove your license plate cover…
-Me:???
-Car guy: Yeah…you need to remove your license plate cover…
(Important to note is that the plate cover says "Happiness is being Swedish")



-Me: WHY????????!!!!!!!!!!

-Car guy: Because it's against the law in Massachusetts to cover the "Spirit of America" writing on the plate...




-Me: Are you kidding????????????!!!!!!!!!!
-Car guy: No, so are you going to remove it?
-Me: Hum, ok…so I don’t have a screwdriver right here, maybe you could do it for me???
-Car guy: ok
-Me: But now no one will know that I am Swedish (trying to make a joke)
-Car guy (in a very uninterested voice, I might add): ok, so?
-Me (inside my head) I am SO putting that cover back on later…
